Council Websites Score An All Time Low
Following a survey of all 433 UK local government websites, the lowest resident satisfaction comes down to information regarding road closures and diversions at a shocking 14%.
As part of the 16th annual better connected survey by Socitm, website users reported it difficult to access clear information on highways disruption. A downward trend in online satisfaction has been occurring; last year, only 39 of 433 sites received a 4 star rating and 157 achieved 3 stars.
The report champions the new website roadworks.org which garnered widespread use following the flooding crises in recent months.
Socitm believes low scores comes down to increased mobile use: ‘On average, results from tasks tested on mobiles were half as good as those tested on desktop devices, indicating that councils are currently finding it difficult to match the quality of experience on the desktop with that on mobile devices.’
